Google Plus When I heard that there was going to be a new social media platform I thought to myself "oh no, not another one"! People have been talking about the new Google Plus. I thought "my gosh, there was once MySpace, then Facebook, then Twitter, what more can there be? It gets repetitive." However, at the same time, I was open about the idea of another social network. Especially if it has the potential to be different from Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. So I joined it, Google Plus that is and I intuitively felt potential with this. And I believe Google Plus will in the end, do quite well. Because Google Plus is still in its infancy, you will not yet see it. But you over time you will see that there is a strong connection which is strategic between the new Google Plus and Google, the search engine! There has been a lot of chatter of search results that are personalized in internet techie groups. If you are not familiar with how it is, I will tell you. Google has made their search engine to give you results that is recommend by all of your social media connections. If you have added your websites, social media links or anything else created by you into your Google account, that will deliver personalized results. The more of your content you add into your Google account, the more results of your stuff will be delivered when someone does a search on what you offer. And in the long run, this could be an excellent thing for SEO. Even if you do not implement SEO work (though it is still highly recommended that you do), your work, websites and social media sites, any content will automatically increase in importance for any searches made by your social media friends. The increase will be dramatic! The next thing you know, your traffic will spike and you will get more businesses! It will be much easier for your contacts' contacts to find you as well, more so than on any other social media platform. If say for instance, Jack is in your circle, you will find that Jill is in his circle. You end up adding Jill and she knows this, and hires you for a service you provide on the spot because she was impressed with your websites and content in general. Facebook and Twitter have helped bring new connections and have given business owners more business. But if Google Plus does well, business owners who use it will find that they will get business much quicker! In other words, if you are a business owner, it is HIGHLY recommended that you are a member of Google Plus. And if you need an invite, contact me and I will gladly send it to you!|
